MY JOURNEY ..... YOUR STORY

introduced to Christ when i started school - St Anthony's Convent. we had morning prayers and hymns together with national anthem and school song. we had mass in the chapel and for some of us it was a break away from lessons, a time to rest our eyes, a time to do nothing. for me it was a break and sometimes a short nap. :)

all i remembered was that i could ask for anything from heaven by going through Mother Mary. i believed because everytime i lose something, i'll pray and i'll find it. it was a process that always worked. childlike faith? i guess so. there were no doubts then. i just believed. now that i think back, i didn't pray through Mary, i just asked to be led to where my lost items were and waited for signs. sadly, there was also no deep or sincere gratitude. just a simple "thank you" after that.

this went on all through my school days. however, somewhere along the way, i forgot about the asking for assistance or directions. i made things happen on my own and depended on my own strength.

sometime after seconday school, a friend brought me a to a Christian service...CULTURE SHOCK! where were the books? where was the process? where were the instructions? there was nothing for me to follow! i didn't know when to kneel or when to stand or what to say. however, i enjoyed the service. lost contact with my friend soon after and didn't step into a church after that until some years later for my sister's baptism. started going on and off with my family as shortly after that, my parents and sisters got saved and baptised but not me.

week 2 ...

i had difficulty focussing. not because i was tired but my mind was still clouded. something was bothering me. who am i? what is my purpose? then on day 2, pastor said something

John 15:16
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.

it hit me right in the spirit. "i am good enough"..."i am chosen"..."it is all given, let me receive"

today, i had a vision of the tabernacle. pastor led us through the pain and suffering Jesus carried for us, how his blood had cleansed us of our sins. how can i not love and forgive? what can be more painful than His walk carrying the cross to be crucified? to be caned and stripped of all dignity and pride and still He did not give up. His love for us kept Him going for He knew what He had to do for us. greater riches and glory awaits Him at the right hand of His Father.

i am humbled before Him. i ask...but what have i got that's worthy to give?

to love You from the inside out

night before...couldn't sleep...anticipation and anxiety

day 1... getting into our groups, getting to know the members and we played a short game of amazing race. i've got wonderful team members.... YOUTH MEETING in the night... so many youths willing to make an impact for God's kingdom... there is hope. i sat there and i asked myself... "what can i do to bring in the youths for the Lord?"... for they are the future. i may be an adult but being there make me realise i can also be part of the growth.

day 2... i just could not focus. i could not be present. my mind is wandering... what's happening in the office, what do i need to get for my handicraft class, what do i need to do to find that part time job, what can i do to bring in the income? i was listening but i was not hearing the word. i could not get into the spirit. i am here. i want to learn. i want to grow. i want to be ready when called. i want to make a difference... but i can't if i'm not present. i prayed.

day 3... i continued praying... i am not to be defeated by my thoughts. i am here for a purpose and i am going to fulfill that purpose no matter what happens. i am going to give it my all. i prayed, i emptied myself, i prayed, i focused, i prayed, i surrendered... and i saw my comforter.

i was walking on a long narrow road. it was dark everywhere. everything's black. i was so small and the long narrow road seems never ending.. i walked and walked and i was still so small. i cried out from where i was praying and He came... so huge and yet so gentle. His hands holding mine and walking with me. i grew bigger as i walked and i know there is light at the end of the long narrow road. i continued to walk and He continued to lead. then i stretched out my other hand and i am holding someone else's hand. someone who was as small as i was before He came and soon i was holding many hands. my tears of desperation became tears of joy. i know He will be walking with me and i know i will make a difference one life at a time... this is my God moment.

to walk in Christ is not enough... hunger for the Holy Spirit to walk boldly for God's kingdom

i want to continue walking that road... and everyday i will pray for strength so that i can keep walking... non-stop... forever till His work is done.

island caretaker? nope ... that can get boring at times.

every day is a brand new day. every day is different. every day is a learning. every day is a blessing.

the job - share the love, the joy and the experience, care and concern for all around me, strive to make someone happy and make a difference somewhere, to someone, somehow

the reward - permanent joy and rest

the perks - the wonder of watching the impossible become possible, the gentle reminder taps when needed, the warm embrace of comfort and appreciation and the list goes on and on.

i love this job. never know where i'll be sent to or who i'm going to meet or what i'm needed to do but every step is an encouragement, every step is fulfilling, every step is amazing.

He never fails...
